Around Navona Sq., there are many lesser known streets, but very rich in history, with excellent shopping and dining opportunities like Via dell’ Orso, located in the district named “rione Parione”, between the Tiber and Piazza Navona, so called because of the name of an ancient Inn where pilgrims stopped, the street is very picturesque and conveys a sense of peace, offers excellent restaurants, for example the famous “Convivio” of the famous chef Troiani, but also historic taverns as the Orso 80 (bear 80), for a quick and excellent lunch ” Taste Italy” is the perfect place, where you can also buy typical Italian products like: pasta, wine, olive oil, etc. The 15th century Hostaria dell’Orso , however is still standing with its original portico and loggias, the only difference is that today it’s an fine restaurant an exclusive disco and a piano bar. For shopping there are crafts shops, where you can see artisans carving the wood, artists making mosaics, goldsmiths, artists studios and small boutiques with unique items.
